DREAMS-CAPE
Pure Golfing Bliss
Across three amazing nines
Nestled on scenic grounds with meticulously maintained landscapes, the club offers not only a challenging game but also an escape into a tranquil golfing paradise. Our three 9-hole championship golf courses—two designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, and a third nine by Bruce Besse, Jr.—are renowned for their layout and provide a challenge for both the amateur and seasoned golfer. They stretch over a variety of landscapes, featuring rolling fairways lined with Cape Cod’s native flora—including 14 working cranberry bogs—and strategically placed bunkers that test skill and precision. The three-nine format offers an abundance of flexibility—combining any two for a full 18 holes keeps the play interesting and if a scheduled tournament is using two courses for competition, a third one is still open for member play for those not participating in the event.
Willowbend has recently hosted several prestigious Mass Golf Championship events, including the 2024 Mass Open, 2023 Mass Mid-Amateur, and the 2020 Senior Amateur Championship. These events attract some of the state’s best amateur and professional players, who have raved about the course layouts and immaculate conditioning. The 2027 Mass Amateur will also be held at Willowbend!

THE BEND Course
The Bend course at Willowbend is known for its strategic layout that challenges players to use every club in their bag. Meandering through beautiful wooded landscapes, The Bend features narrow fairways and small greens that demand precision and careful thought with each shot. Key features include elevation changes and meticulously placed bunkers that penalize errant shots but reward accuracy and strategy. The seventh hole, a 165-yard par 3, is particularly notable for its raised, tabletop green—reach it off the tee and stick the landing for the best chance for par or under.
THE BAY Course
The Bay course offers a stark contrast to The Bend, with more open fairways and panoramic views of Shoestring Bay. This course is characterized by its water hazards that come into play on several holes, demanding skilled shot placement and nerve. The Bay’s signature hole, a long par-4, runs along the edge of the bay, where the wind can play tricks with the ball, adding an extra layer of challenge. Golfers enjoy the balance of risk and reward as they navigate through this scenic course, making it a favorite for those who enjoy a blend of beauty and challenge.

THE BOG Course
Last but not least, The Bog course presents a unique set of challenges with its wetlands and natural terrain that come into play throughout the round. This course is best known for its protected areas that house native plants and wildlife, creating a serene and environmentally-conscious golfing experience. Among the standout holes is the par-5 ninth, featuring a dogleg left that wraps around a large cranberry bog. This hole is fascinating, particularly because there are so many ways to play it. Golfers finishing this hole will have experienced one of the most distinctive and memorable parts of Willowbend..

Hole 1
Par 5 | 514 yards
Begin with a manageable start on this par 4. Aim your drive to steer clear of the bunkers strategically placed on both sides of the fairway. This will set you up for a successful mid-iron approach to a green that slopes gently, offering a fair challenge to kick off your round.

Hole 2
Par 3 | 197 yards
This challenging long par 3 features a larger body of water on the left and a sizeable bunker to the right. Precision from the tee is key to secure a par, as the green is large but well-protected.

Hole 3

This shorter par 3 packs a punch with a small green encircled by sand traps. Accuracy is paramount, as any deviation can lead to challenging recovery shots.

Starts with a strenuous drive where avoiding the bunkers at optimal landing distances is crucial for setting up the approach on this elongated par 4.

Hole 2
Par 3 | 172 yards
Challenges with a water-crossing par 3, where the green slopes from back to front. Accuracy here is not just a benefit but a necessity to avoid a tricky putt.

Par 4 | 415 yards
This strategic par 4 features a narrowing fairway as it approaches a small, well-defended green. Mastery of both drive and approach shot is rewarded on this hole, demanding precise shot-making.

Combining length and peril, this par 5 follows alongside water hazards demanding a succession of controlled, careful swings from tee to green, testing both skill and strategy.

Hole 5

This shorter par 4 tempts the daring to drive the green, yet the surrounding hazards are ready to penalize all but the most precise shots, making for a thrilling risk-reward scenario.

This reachable par 5 provides an opportunity for birdie if navigated correctly from the initial drive past a water hazard to managing the bunkers near the green.

Hole 9
Par 5 | 521 yards
